OK so this is written in PHP 7, but many production servers do not have PHP available to them ...yet. How about making it Version 5 compatible? And while you're at it, go for a good connector like PDO.
I presume that PHP 7 will be available on such sites as Godaddy before the end of this year, so it would be good to get used to using your class so I would be ready when I have to switch to PHP 7.
