Upload digital camera file and reduce its size

I have a form which allows an individual to upload a picture of a street with a pot hole. I do not expect them to resize the photo prior to uploading it. I need to reduce its size during the upload process. Needs to handle typical file formats that cameras use: jpg, png etc.

This is the one I have used for years and have never had to go looking for anything else. It can resize on the fly, displaying the original image resized (useful for thumbnails) or can resize and save, which is what you are after. Uploaded images are stored in the servers temp folder until you move them to the location you want to store them. This is when the resize is done.
